“The most rewarding part of this challenge has been the strength I have gained day by day. Many simple movements I could not handle before I can now do without any pain or discomfort. Starting this challenge I was overweight, struggled with high cholesterol and hypertension, and had a liver that was screaming for help. Today I no longer struggle with any of that and I feel stronger than I have in a very long time.”

“I had zero fitness experience prior to the challenge was a plus size candidate. I was starting from starch and had trouble with some of the moves. I overcome my challenges by reaching out to Maria, asking for help with modification(s). She provided modifications, encouraged me to keep it simple and do as much as could correctly, without injury, until I could continue to add more reps gradually as recommended.”

“I was laid off from my job and going down a slippery slope of horrible habits. I was eating all sorts of junk food and staying up until 5am most nights. As with everything, there is a transition period, but for me, the transition was awakening a beast inside me I didn’t know existed. I loved the process so I went for more and completed her 8 week 1.0 challenge twice, along with her 10 week core program, and now moving onto her Body by Maria program.”

My biggest obstacle in completing the challenge would have to have been the food. Como buena latina, we would eat bread in the AM, rice for lunch & dinner. Since I would be the cook in my household, I would cook the carbs for the rest of the family & more veggies for me. It was difficult at first but towards the end it was all I knewThe most rewarding part of the challenge was saying that I did that, I made the choice to change for ME, not my husband, not my son, but for me!.”
